You must be employed by a Mauritian company under an employment contract and earn a minimum basic monthly salary of MUR 50,000. The candidate must also demonstrate the skills, qualifications and experience required for the position.

Yes, it is possible to invest in a Mauritian company while holding a Professional permit. However, the Professional Occupation Permit is based on employment with a Mauritian company and the holder must continue to satisfy the conditions applicable to the Professional category.

Yes. Eligible family members may apply for a Residence Permit as dependants, for a duration not exceeding that of the main permit holder.

A Residence Permit as a dependant does not automatically grant the right to work in Mauritius. A dependant wishing to engage in a professional activity must obtain the appropriate authorisation.

The Professional Occupation Permit does not, by itself, grant a general right to acquire any property in Mauritius. Foreign nationals may acquire eligible property under schemes or categories authorised by Mauritian law, subject to the applicable conditions and approvals.
